Ingredients

Units Scale

Ingredients

  • 36 cookies regular Oreo cookies (one standard package; use whole cookies with cream)
  • 8 oz brick-style cream cheese, softened
  • 16 oz chocolate for melting (semi-sweet, milk, or white; chips or bars)

Instructions

  1. Line a tray: Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Crush the Oreos: Add the entire package of Oreo cookies (cream and all) to a food processor or high‑powered blender. Process on high until fine, uniform crumbs form.
  3. Make the mixture: Transfer crumbs to a large bowl (reserve 1–2 Tbsp for garnish, if desired). Add softened cream cheese and beat with a handheld mixer on medium until fully combined into a thick, dough‑like mixture.
  4. Roll & chill: Using a small cookie scoop or tablespoon, portion the mixture and roll into smooth 1‑inch balls. Place on the prepared tray and freeze for at least 20 minutes to firm up.
  5. Melt chocolate: Place chopped chocolate (or chips) in a microwave‑safe bowl. Microwave in 20–30 second bursts, stirring after each, until completely smooth. Do not overheat.
  6. Dip: Working one at a time, dip each chilled ball into the melted chocolate, turning with a fork to coat. Lift out and gently tap the fork on the bowl to let excess drip off.
  7. Garnish & set: Return dipped balls to parchment. Sprinkle with reserved Oreo crumbs (or drizzle contrasting chocolate) while still wet. Refrigerate 20 minutes, or until the chocolate is fully set.

Notes

Variations: Use golden Oreos; coat with white chocolate and drizzle dark; add 1/2 tsp peppermint extract for holiday flair. Storage: Refrigerate in an airtight container up to 1 week or freeze up to 2 months (thaw in the fridge).
