Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp Cornstarch
- 3 Tbsp Water (Cold)
- 3/4 cup Florida orange juice (Fresh or 100% juice)
- 1/4 cup Hoisin sauce
- 1 tsp Fresh ginger grated
- 1 tsp Garlic minced (About 3 cloves)
- 2 Tbsp Soy sauce (Low-sodium preferred)
- Sesame seeds (For garnish optional)
Instructions
Create the Cornstarch Slurry:
- In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and cold water until completely smooth with no lumps. Set aside.
Combine & Boil Sauce Base:
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine orange juice, hoisin sauce, grated ginger, minced garlic, and soy sauce.
- Stir occasionally and bring to a gentle boil.
Thicken the Sauce:
- Give the cornstarch slurry a quick re-whisk, then pour into the boiling sauce.
- Stir constantly for 1–2 minutes until the sauce thickens to a glaze-like consistency that coats the back of a spoon.
- Immediately remove from heat to prevent over-thickening.
Serve & Garnish:
- Transfer to a serving bowl or drizzle directly over your stir-fry, grilled chicken, or tofu.
