Description

A quick, glossy sauce that combines bright Florida orange juice, savory hoisin, and a hint of ginger-garlic heat. Ready in under 7 minutes, it’s perfect for tossing with stir-fries, drizzling over grilled meats, or dunking appetizers.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 Tbsp Cornstarch
  • 3 Tbsp Water (Cold)
  • 3/4 cup Florida orange juice (Fresh or 100% juice)
  • 1/4 cup Hoisin sauce
  • 1 tsp Fresh ginger grated
  • 1 tsp Garlic minced (About 3 cloves)
  • 2 Tbsp Soy sauce (Low-sodium preferred)
  • Sesame seeds (For garnish optional)

Instructions

Create the Cornstarch Slurry:

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and cold water until completely smooth with no lumps. Set aside.

Combine & Boil Sauce Base:

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine orange juice, hoisin sauce, grated ginger, minced garlic, and soy sauce.
  2. Stir occasionally and bring to a gentle boil.

Thicken the Sauce:

  1. Give the cornstarch slurry a quick re-whisk, then pour into the boiling sauce.
  2. Stir constantly for 1–2 minutes until the sauce thickens to a glaze-like consistency that coats the back of a spoon.
  3. Immediately remove from heat to prevent over-thickening.

Serve & Garnish:

  1. Transfer to a serving bowl or drizzle directly over your stir-fry, grilled chicken, or tofu.
