Description

This Crock Pot Brown Sugar Pineapple Ham recipe is the stress-free solution for your holiday feast. By using your slow cooker, you can achieve a ham that is incredibly moist, tender, and infused with the sweet, tropical flavors of pineapple and brown sugar—all without taking up a single inch of oven space. The result is a sticky, savory-sweet glaze that caramelizes perfectly.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 (approx. 8-10 lbs) Pre-cooked Spiral Cut Ham
  • 3 1/2 cups Brown Sugar, divided use
  • 1/2 cup Raw Natural Honey
  • 1 (20 oz) can Pineapple Tidbits or Chunks, undrained

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Slow Cooker Base: Spread 2 cups of the brown sugar evenly across the bottom of a large crock pot (6-quarts or larger).
  2. Place and Prep the Ham: Place the ham flat-side down on top of the sugar layer. Gently separate the spiral slices slightly with your hands to allow the glaze to penetrate.
  3. Add Honey and Pineapple: Pour the honey evenly over the top of the ham. Next, pour the entire can of pineapple tidbits (juice and all!) over the ham.
  4. Create the Sugar Crust: Pat the remaining 1 1/2 cups of brown sugar onto the top and sides of the ham.
  5. Slow Cook: Cover and cook on LOW for 3 ½ – 4 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 140°F. Do not overcook.
  6. Serve: Carefully remove the ham to a platter. Spoon the pan juices and pineapple chunks over the ham before serving.

Notes

  • Sugar Base: The bottom layer of sugar melts with the ham and pineapple juices to create a rich steaming syrup.
  • Separate Slices: separating the slices slightly ensures that the delicious glaze flavors every single slice, not just the outside.
  • Pineapple Juice: Do not drain the pineapple! The acidity in the juice helps tenderize the meat and balances the sweetness.
  • Don’t Overcook: Ham is already cooked; you are simply heating it through and glazing it. Overcooking will dry it out.
