  • 8 chicken drumsticks (skin-on, bone-in)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper (freshly ground)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Make the marinade: In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, olive oil, black pepper, salt, and smoked paprika until the honey dissolves.
  2. Marinate: Add drumsticks to a large zip-top bag or shallow dish. Pour marinade over, coat well, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (up to 4 hours).
  3. Preheat & pan: Heat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil or parchment for easy cleanup. Arrange drumsticks, shaking off excess marinade; reserve remaining marinade.
  4. Roast: Bake 18–20 minutes, flip, brush with reserved marinade, and continue roasting 17–20 minutes more, until caramelized and an instant‑read thermometer reads 165°F (74°C).
  5. Rest & serve: Let rest 5 minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve.

Notes

  • For extra sticky glaze, simmer leftover marinade for 2–3 minutes to reduce, then brush on during the last 5 minutes of baking.
  • Air fryer option: 380°F (193°C) for 22–25 minutes, flipping halfway.
