Description

A refreshingly creamy and tangy limeade made with whole limes, sweetened condensed milk, and just the right balance of sweetness. Despite its name, this sparkling drink contains no lemons—only limes! Perfect for hot days and easy to make in minutes.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 whole Limes (Quartered seeds removed if possible)
  • 4 cups Cold filtered water (Plus extra for dilution if desired)
  • As needed Ice (To serve)
  • 1 14 oz. can (300 ml) Sweetened condensed milk (Shake can before opening)

Instructions

Blend the Base:

  1. In a blender, combine quartered limes and 4 cups cold water. Pulse 6–8 times (about 5 seconds each) to break up the rind lightly—avoid over-blending to prevent bitterness.

Strain & Sweeten:

  1. Pour the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a pitcher, pressing on solids to extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the pulp.
  2. Stir in the sweetened condensed milk until fully incorporated.

Serve:

  1. Fill serving glasses with ice. Pour the Brazilian lemonade over the ice.
  2. For a lighter sweetness, dilute with additional cold water to taste.

Notes

  1. Avoid Bitterness: Pulse briefly—over-blending the lime rinds releases bitter oils.
  2. Chill Ahead: Make up to 2 hours in advance and keep refrigerated. Stir briefly before serving.
  3. Variations: Swap in half-and-half for a creamier version or use coconut milk for a tropical twist.
  4. Garnish: Add lime wheels or fresh mint sprigs for a decorative touch.
