Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Salt Or to taste
  • 4 tsp Baking powder
  • 2 tbsp White sugar
  • 2 large Eggs (At room temperature)
  • 1 1/2 cups Warm milk (About 110°F/43°C)
  • 1/3 cup Butter melted (Unsalted or salted)
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract (Optional for extra flavor)

Instructions

Preheat & Prep:

  1. Preheat your waffle iron according to manufacturer’s instructions.
  2. Lightly grease plates if needed.

Mix Dry Ingredients:

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, salt, baking powder, and sugar until evenly combined.

Mix Wet Ingredients:

  1. In a medium bowl or large measuring cup, whisk eggs lightly.
  2. Stir in warm milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.

Combine Batter:

  1. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients.
  2. Gently whisk until just combined—small lumps are okay. Do not overmix.

Cook Waffles:

  1. Pour batter onto the preheated waffle iron (about ½–¾ cup per waffle, depending on size).
  2. Close the lid and cook until the waffle is golden brown and crisp (usually 3–5 minutes).
  3. Remove with a spatula and transfer to a cooling rack to keep crisp while you cook the remaining batter.

Serve Immediately:

  1. Stack waffles on plates.
  2. Top with butter, maple syrup, fresh fruit, whipped cream, or any favorites.

Notes

  • Extra Crisp: Keep cooked waffles on a wire rack in a 200°F (95°C) oven until all are ready to serve.

  • Make-Ahead: Waffles freeze well—cool completely, then freeze in a single layer. Reheat in toaster or oven.

  • Flavor Variations: Fold in ½ cup blueberries or chocolate chips to the batter for a fun twist.

  • Gluten-Free Option: Substitute a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend for the all-purpose flour.
