Description
The key to a perfect burger is simplicity and quality. Using fresh, high-quality minced beef with a good fat content (an 80/20 blend is ideal) will make all the difference in creating a juicy, flavorful masterpiece.
Ingredients
For the Burger Patties
- grams (about 1.1 lbs) High-Quality Minced Beef (80/20 blend recommended)
- Small Onion, peeled and grated
- bunch Fresh Parsley, finely chopped
- tsp Tabasco Sauce
- tbsp Sunflower or Olive Oil
- To taste Salt and Freshly Ground Black Pepper
For Serving
- Quality Burger Buns, preferably brioche
- Your Favorite Toppings: Lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese slices, etc.
- Your Favorite Condiments: Ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, etc.
Instructions
- Combine and Mix the Patties: In a large bowl, place the minced beef, grated onion, chopped parsley, Tabasco sauce, salt, and pepper. Use your hands to mix with a light touch, just until everything is combined. Do not overwork the meat.
- Form and Chill the Burgers: Divide the mixture into six equal portions. With slightly wet hands, gently form each portion into a patty, about ¾-inch thick. Place the patties on a plate, cover, and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to help them firm up.
- Preheat the Grill: Preheat your grill or a grill pan on high for about five minutes. Brush one side of each chilled patty with oil. Place the burgers on the grill oiled-side down, then brush the top side with a little more oil.
- Grill to Perfection: Grill the burgers to your desired doneness. A general guide is Rare: 2-3 mins per side, Medium: 4-5 mins per side, Well-Done: 6 mins per side.
- Assemble Your Masterpiece: Toast the burger buns. Slather with your favorite condiments, then add the perfectly grilled patty. Layer on your chosen toppings like cheese, lettuce, and tomato. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Don’t Overmix: The secret to a tender patty is a light touch. Be careful not to overwork the meat when mixing, as this can make the burgers tough and dense.
- Chill for Success: Chilling the patties for at least 30 minutes is a crucial step. It helps them firm up so they hold their shape and don’t fall apart on the grill.
- Choose Quality Beef: For the juiciest, most flavorful results, use freshly minced beef with an 80/20 lean-to-fat ratio.
