Recipe by Evelyn Marcella Rivera

These easy Baked Ham and Cheese Sliders on Hawaiian rolls are the ultimate party appetizer. Featuring a savory Dijon poppy seed butter glaze and melted Swiss cheese, they are ready in just 35 minutes.

  • Total Time35 minutes
  • Yield12 sliders 1x

Ingredients

Scale

Butter Glaze

  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.5 tsp onion powder
  • 0.25 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp poppy seeds

Sandwich Assembly

  • 1 package Hawaiian sweet rolls (12-ounce pack)
  • 12 slices Swiss cheese (divided use)
  • 12 slices deli ham (thin sliced)

Instructions

  1. Preheat: Arrange a rack in the middle of the oven and heat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Make Butter Mixture: Microwave butter until melted. Whisk in Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, and kosher salt.
  3. Slice Rolls: Without separating the rolls, cut the package of Hawaiian sweet dinner rolls in half horizontally. Place the bottom half in a baking dish.
  4. Assemble: Layer half the Swiss cheese on the bottom rolls. Arrange the ham over the cheese. Top with remaining Swiss cheese and the top bun slab.
  5. Glaze: Brush the butter mixture onto the top of the rolls. Sprinkle with poppy seeds.
  6. Bake: Cover tightly with foil. Bake for 10-15 minutes until cheese melts. Uncover and bake 3-5 more minutes until lightly browned.
  7. Serve: Cut into individual sliders with a serrated knife and serve warm.

Notes

Covering the sliders with foil for the first part of baking is crucial to ensure the cheese melts without burning the sweet tops of the rolls.
